Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg said everyone knows what Trump is doing as he requested an extension of the ex-president’s gag order.
The Manhattan district attorney’s office wrote in a filing:
The defendant’s dangerous, violent, and reprehensible rhetoric poses a fundamental threat to the integrity of this proceeding and is intended to intimidate both witnesses and trial participants – including this Court. The People accordingly submit this memorandum in further support of our March 28 request to the Court (1) to clarify or confirm that its decision of March 26, 2024 limiting extrajudicial statements does not include the Court’s family members, the public prosecutor and all other persons mentioned in this memorandum. the order; and (2) warn the suspect that his recent behavior is offensive and that the suspect immediately refrain from attacking family members.
To the extent that the original order of March 26 did not already prohibit this conduct, this Court may do so
and should clarify or expand the order to protect family members of the Court on the record described below, and warn the defendant that any future failure to comply with the order will result in sanctions under Judiciary Law § 750(A)(3 ) and 751.

There is no constitutional right to attack the family of this Court, let alone the blatant falsehoods that have served as the flimsiest of pretexts for the accused’s attacks. Suspect knows what he is doing, and everyone else knows that too. And we all know exactly what the suspect is planning to do, because he has said for decades that it is part of his philosophy to pursue his alleged opponents “as viciously and as violently” as he can.5 He has said for decades that he attacks his opponents. perceived opponents as both “evil” and “violent” both “because it feels good and because other people will see you do it.” 6 And he most recently promised that “IF YOU COME AFTER ME, I’ll come after you!” 7 He is now carrying out that promise.
The gag order should be extended. By attacking the judge’s daughter, Trump is attempting to threaten and intimidate the judge. DA Bragg was right. We all understand what Trump’s game is. The ex-president is trying to disrupt and distort the process so that justice cannot be done.
Donald Trump’s criminal trial is set to begin in a few weeks, and the court must take action to prevent him from contaminating the proceedings.
Trump has shown what he is capable of, so it is time for the court to silence him.
