Former Trump lawyer and coup architect John Eastman can no longer practice law in California.
The New Republic reported:
It’s official: John Eastman, Trump’s former lawyer, can no longer practice in California pending his appeal in the state courts.
As of Tuesday, Eastman is listed on the State Bar of California website as “ineligible to practice law.” The move comes three days after Judge Yvette Roland of the State Bar Court of California recommended that Eastman’s law license be placed on “involuntary inactive” status.

Eastman’s suspension was recommended by a judge last week. Eastman can appeal through the California legal system, but those appeals are unlikely to be successful. Chances are, it’s unlikely Eastman will ever be able to practice law in the state again. There are 49 other states where he could be licensed, but the bars generally don’t welcome disbarred lawyers with open arms.
There is a good chance that Eastman is finished as a qualified lawyer, as he is yet another example of someone who has followed Trump’s orders and taken the blame for the criminal scheme, while Trump has thus far dodged the consequences.
Expulsion is not as good as a prison sentence, but attempts to overthrow the government should have consequences.
