The pre-sentencing hearing will take place via a special virtual network with extra security measures, and the interviewer will be a woman, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation. The call is not expected to be postponed via Zoom, these sources added.

Trump could also be asked whether he associates with anyone with a criminal record because he won’t be able to associate with them if he is placed on probation, Horn said. The probation officer may then want to interview others in Trump’s home. Although agents typically answer their questions in one session, follow-up conversations may occur. The probation officer will then prepare a report and provide it to Merchan.
Thanks to Trump, many people around the ex-president have a criminal record. It could be the height of hilarity if Trump violates his probation because his inner circle is full of criminals. Trump has shown no remorse.

The importance of this moment cannot be overlooked. The Republican candidate for president sits down for an interview with a probation officer because he has been convicted of 34 crimes. Trump’s meeting with a probation officer should not be treated as political as usual.
None of this is normal, and every opportunity should be taken to remind voters that Joe Biden is the main non-felon party choice in the 2024 election.
